Richardson Chamber of Commerce Turns to Rescue Communications to handle Technology Challenge.
Through over 64 years of advocacy, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce (RCC) serves as the voice of the local business community. Whether it is local, state, or federal government, education, transportation or workforce issues, the RCC is there to support and protect the interests of the local business community. Through the involvement of its leaders and members, it reinvigorates and provides continuous improvement in its programs and services in a way that constantly delivers tangible value to its members and the community. The RCC achieves its mission by focusing on Economic development, business advocacy, leadership development, education and networking. But technology has changed dramatically over the years and the RCC was finding that its telecom technology requirements were no longer being met by its current telecom service providers. It was also looking to leverage state of the art Web conferencing services and was concerned about the cost of its telecom services.
With so many challenges and recent changes to the world of telecommunications, The Richardson Chamber of Commerce trusted Rescue Communications to perform an in-depth telecommunications audit to identify potential cost savings and service enhancements.
No-risk audits reveal potential savings and areas for service improvement.
In just a few short weeks, Rescue Communications delivered:
- An audit of RCC’s existing carrier services.
- A system design that will enable the addition of a Cisco Unified Messaging solution at a later date with minimal disruption.
- Recommendations to “future proof” the network.
- Rescue’s telecommunication proposal supported the Richardson Chamber of Commerce’s current needs and future growth by:
- More than doubling the bandwidth at from DSL to 3.0 MBPS bonded T-1.
- Implementing a WebEx conferencing solution to expand RCC’s meeting solution options for its staff and members.
- Providing a Voice over IP solution that can be used in the current PRI environment and leverage the Cisco Unified Messaging solution once deployed.
Rescue’s mission: deliver savings to the bottom line and focus on customer needs.
Prior to the telecommunications audit, The Richardson Chamber of Commerce was paying more than $1,200 in monthly service charges for phone lines, DSL Internet Service and Long Distance. Even after increasing the service to double RCC’s bandwidth, Rescue reduced the monthly service bill to $741 in just a few short months.
And Rescue didn’t stop there. The telecom audit and interviews with RCC staff revealed business needs for Web and audio conferencing which will result in significant expansion in real time and recorded meetings for RCC and its members.
“Having Rescue Communications come in and audit our services was like finding money, I did not know I had. And on top of that, we have better services.”
— Drew Snow, Director- Member Development
All told, Rescue Communications delivered to the Richardson Chamber of Commerce contract savings of over $16,500, a 38% price reduction.
